Within the scope of the studies carried out at Kayseri University Ata Seed Application and Research Center, end-of-season harvesting of horse-grown tomatoes was carried out. From the harvested products, new seeds are being obtained for use in the next season. This cyclic production process, which is carried out with the understanding of “from seed to product, from product to re-seed,” is of great importance in terms of protecting local varieties and developing sustainable agriculture. The studies carried out at the center aim to protect Kayseri's local gene resources and to reproduce these seeds with scientific methods and to transfer them to future generations.
